Forever Final Girl

Hideous!

Hideous is another low budget horror from Charles Band and Full Moon Entertainment. We get our typical little monsters, nudity with Lovell, and just enough humor to keep it entertaining. Plus this was made during the greatness of the earlier Full Moon Entertainment movies. For me, the earlier movies are more re-watchable than the new stuff coming out.

Released: Aug 27, 1997

Runtime: 82 mins

Director: Charles Band

Writer: Neal Marshall Stevens

Actors: Michael Citriniti, Rhonda Griffin, Mel Johnson Jr.

MY THOUGHTS

Honey, if I wanted a thinking receptionist, you'd be working at Burger King.--Belinda

There’s only four kills in this movie, with only a little blood. Most of the gore is mainly slime and goo coming from the oddities. I did like the trap that Yost walked in on. Just wish there had been a little more gore. Plus it was too dark to see much.

Acting wise, we have Mel Johnson, Jr. as Napoleon Lazer (one of the collectors). He played Benny in Total Recall. The scene where he’s taking quill’s out of Yost’s butt, while sitting in the bathroom. Jacqueline Lovell  plays Sheila, Dr. Lorca’s right hand woman. She holds up Lazer wearing a gorilla mask, boots, leather shorts and nothing else. Did I mention it was outside in the snow? This woman rocks. The other actors are good, but Elvina, the dumb secretary, is annoying as hell. Mainly just how dumb the character is. We don’t get to see much of the oddities. When we do see them it’s so dark it’s hard to see the hideousness of them.

I'm free, I'm proud, I'm woman!--Sheila

Oddly enough, my main issue with the movie is that the movie is overall too dark. I can’t see the oddities that well. I know it’s probably on purpose because they didn’t want to show them but it would have been nice to see more of them. Overall, yes it’s a low budget movie from Full Moon Entertainment. But, I did like it. The story was entertaining and I wasn’t hating it. I will watch it again when I’m in the mood for a Full Moon movie.
