I’m late to the game, but I finally watched Scream VI. Or as I like to call it Scream VI: Return of the Plot Armor. Just kidding, or am I? I wanted to watch it when it first came out, but I was told I had to wait and watch with someone but they had a wonky schedule. I gave up and watched it on my own.

Positives:

• I felt the kills and the gore were pretty good. 

• I like the plot more than I thought I would. I was hesitant about Scream being set outside of Woodsboro, but I thought it works.

• I like Scream VI better than Scream V.

Negatives:

• Plot armor….Plot armor….Plot armor. Did I mention Plot armor?

• I feel like the final act was a bit of a letdown compared to the first two acts.

• I felt like there were a couple of characters that were very underutilized. I wish they either had a better storyline or were never in it.

• I figured out the killer(s) early on. Wish they could hide it better like the original movies.

Overall I did have a good time with Scream VI. I definitely will be rewatching it. When I write my full review (with spoilers) I’ll get into the negatives more. I would have rated this higher if it didn’t suffer from them. I was pleasantly surprised. After the last movie, I didn’t have high expectations. Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.
