Quick Bites: The Sadness
I thought I would do an Asian horror double feature night. First up was Korean horror movie Project: Wolf Hunting, which was an action horror movie that is a fun brutal movie. Followed by a horror movie from Taiwan, The Sadness, also a horror movie that is brutal. But not so much fun. If anything, like the title, The Sadness made me sad.
Plot:
During an outbreak of a violent disease, a couple try to find each other without being infected.
Positives:
The kills and brutality are pretty graphic.
The plot is actually pretty decent. Not just kills, but a good plot.
The three main actors are pretty good.
It gets bat shit crazy pretty quickly so buckle up!
Negatives:
It’s kind of bleak. The depths of depravity people will lower themselves to is depressing.
The Sadness is a good movie but know there are violent and brutal murders, sexual assaults, and depravity. If that is not something you like, then don’t watch it. Otherwise, definitely take the time to watch The Sadness. Just maybe watch something a little more upbeat afterwards. That’s what I did.
Quick Bite rating: 4/5
