Quick Bites: Slashlorette Party

Recently I’ve been on a Full Moon Entertainment movie kick. But I decided to take a short break. I’ll pick a random streaming service and pick a movie. This time I got Prime Video. I see Slashlorette Party on there for awhile, but I always passed on it. This time, I would give it a chance and I’m glad I did.

Plot:

A bride-to-be is taken to a woodland cabin for a bachelorette party, but the fun stops when an uninvited guest starts cutting down the guest list.

Positives:

  • Nice homage to 80’s horror.

  • The acting is varied from decent to not great.

  • Has some decent gore in it. They use practical effects instead of CGI and it’s decent for its budget.

  • Former adult actress Ginger Lynn Allen is in it.

  • I really like the poster for the movie as well.

Negatives:

  • Wasn’t a fan of the ending. Not going to say more because I don’t want to give anything away.

  • It took longer than I expected for the first kill. It’s a slasher movie, so you have certain expectations.

  • (This can be a negative or positive) Most of the characters are not likable so you’re rooting for them to die.

Overall I had a good time with most of the movie. I would have given this a higher rating if it wasn’t for the very end of the movie. That ending annoyed the hell out of me. Having said that, the rest of the movie was good. Slashlorette Party is directed by Paul Ragsdale and Angelica De Alba and they also directed Streets of Vengeance and Murdercise. I haven’t seen these movies but I’m going to check them out now.

Quick Bite rating:  3/5
