Quick Bites: Snow Falls

Lately I’ve been watching some real low budget horror movies. Since this is a new movie I thought Snow Falls stood to be a good movie. No. I was so wrong. It is just not good.

Plot:

After a winter storm strands five friends in a remote cabin with no power and little food, disorientation slowly claims their sanity as each of them succumbs to a fear that the snow itself may be contaminated or somehow evil.

Positives:

• The location where the movie is set is nice.

• The acting wasn’t too bad.

Negatives:

• Bad CGI (the snow and the fake cold breath was bad)

• The story was so slow and not executed very well.

• The decisions of some of the characters were so stupid.

I went into Snow Falls blind, that is I didn’t watch a trailer. I just read the little blurb on the site. I had high hopes for it. But Snow Falls broke the number one rule: Don’t be boring. This movie was so slow and for a movie that is only 79 minutes, it felt like it was over two hours. You might want to pass on this one, unless you want to fall asleep.
