Puppet Master II

Puppet Master II is as good, if not better than the original Puppet Master movie. Yes, strong words but I like both of these movies. And come on…it’s got Charlie Spradling in it! Gotta love it!

PLOT

More paranormal researchers show up to Bodega Bay Hotel to find out what happened there. This time the dolls are trying to get their brain fluid for Andre Toulon.

MY THOUGHTS

The kills were either bloody or burnt. There’s about 7 or 8 kills and unfortunately we don’t see most deaths on screen, but we do get to see the aftermath. We get our first, and I believe only, child death in the series. Though the little runt kind of deserved the frying. He was a psychopath in the making. It does seem odd though that Andre Toulon is the bad guy in this movie. In all of the other movies I believe he is a good guy.

The acting was pretty good for Full Moon. But I have to say, it’s the first Full Moon Entertainment movie I saw the great Charlie Spradling in. She’s one of my favorite Full Moon Ladies. The puppets get more airtime in this movie. It’s unfortunate that Leech Woman is destroyed in a wood stove. I read that the studio executives didn’t like that puppet and didn’t want her in future movies. Luckily enough, co-producer David DeCoteau said that Leech Woman was his favorite puppets so she makes a comeback in later movies.

I wanted to take a quick break to let you know I found these great deals on Amazon for …merchandise. I’ve applied to Amazon’s affiliate program and if I can get three purchases I will be accepted into the program. This will be of tremendous help with starting my small business.

Positives:

  • I like the soundtrack for Puppet Master 1 and 2. Richard Band, Charles Band’s brother, made the music for both movies (well, he does most of the music for his brothers’ movies).

  • We get equal opportunity nudity in this one. Granted we get Wanda’s (Charlie Spradling) breasts and we get Michael’s (Collin Bernsen) bare butt.

  • I also like how they explained what happened to Alex Whitaker and Megan Gallagher between the movies.

And now for your Forever Final Girl Exclusive…Did you know?:

  • The Torch puppet that is used for the flame throwing scenes can shoot out a flame as long as 10 feet.

  • Mr. Punch, the lead doll from 1986 Dolls, is featured in a background shelf in Andre Toulon's hotel room.
