Quick Bites: When Evil Lurks
When Evil Lurks was first released I was hesitant to watch it. Possession movies are not my favorite subgenre. Even though I heard praise for it I still held out on watching it. It took Joe Bob showing it on Nightmareathon (Joe Bob’s Last Drive In Season 6) before I actually watched it. I have regrets waiting so long.
House on Haunted Hill (1959)
For the last few years this has become a Halloween season staple. As a fan of Vincent Price, this is one of his movies I can watch over and over again. House on Haunted Hill (1959) is a nice little mystery/horror that satisfies that itch for something creepy, but not graphic, and has Vincent Price in it.
Bikini Bloodbath: Car Wash
I found Bikini Bloodbath: Car Wash while trying to set up my movie list for Summer of Trash Challenge 2023. Shout out to Rich Trash on Letterboxd for setting this challenge up. The first prompt was to watch a movie with any kind of swimwear in the title. I took one look at the cast and plot and knew I had to watch it.
Willy’s Wonderland
When this came out, I was super excited. Nicolas Cage and animatronics that kill. Who wouldn’t like this? I know that we’ve been waiting forever for a Five Nights At Freddy’s movie and this seems very similar. But I don’t care. I’ll still see that movie. For now, Willy’s Wonderland scratches that itch that I didn’t realize I needed.
Imprint
Unfortunately I was one of the few who couldn’t watch Masters of Horror when it first aired. I had to wait until it was released on DVD. I did however hear about the controversy of Imprint and how it wasn’t aired. Despite that, Imprint is a very good installment in the Masters of Horror series.
